Entrepreneurial Endevaours

I have been highly entrepreneurial since a young age, as I began busking as a violinist to fund my musical projects well before I was old enough to apply for formal work. I attended a college program for entrepreneurship in between my university studies, which permitted me to gain fundamental knowledge about how to run and operate a business before I determined to take a leap. Following my attendance at this small business program, I launched my own start-up business, specializing in athletic apparel and small boutique athletic services. During this small business project, I learned a large amount about how to locally design and manufacture apparel, about how to interact with customers, and about how to organize and run small athletic classes. My idea for this business stemmed primarily from my background in yoga teaching. I told my yoga teaching certificate, and have taught yoga classes in between jogs and other athletic pursuits. I ran my 700+ square foot business in the heart of Kitsilano, Vancouver, a hub for active individuals.

I closed this first business after approximately a year, as I had been hit by a car, and battling my injuries eventually became too strenuous. (I have written another blog article to elaborate on the automobile accident). Later, however, I went on to purchase another clothing store that was three times the size of my first business. I purchased a well-established business, which meant that I had to be quick on my feet and learn a long list of operations quickly. During this second business endeavour, I learned invaluable people skills, I learned effective time management skills, and I learned how to better market and sell products to consumers.

I am sure that, down the road, I will build and run another business. I am a born entrepreneur in the sense that I have a bit of a mad scientist and a creative individual, combined, coursing through my veins. When the right future opportunity presents itself to me, or flows into my mind during a moment of reflection, I am sure that I will embark upon further entrepreneurial pursuits. In the meanwhile, I strive to use the knowledge and skills I have gained through my small business endeavours to help me launch my latest musical releases.
